My name is Austin Akalonu. I am from Houston, Texas. A Christian and married with 3 lovely boys and a beautiful girl. I like listening to music in my leisure time. I also enjoy playing table tennis. Spending time with my wife and children is something I cherish.

Welcome to my Clinical Mental Health Counseling e-Portfolio. I am a master’s-level student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program at Grand Canyon University. This portfolio documents my academic preparation, professional experiences, and counselor identity development throughout my practicum and internship training.

I am completing my internship at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Houston, Texas. I also work there as a Mental Health Technician. This dual role allows me to integrate coursework. It combines supervised clinical training and direct client exposure with adult and adolescent populations in a structured behavioral health setting.

This e-Portfolio reflects my growth in counseling knowledge, skills, and professional identity. It shows my commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and evidence-based care. The materials included align with CACREP competencies. They show Grand Canyon University’s mission to prepare competent, compassionate, and service-oriented counseling professionals.
